Elizabeth Norris, LMSW

Position: Licensed Master Social Worker From Salisbury University School of Social Work
Categories: Equine, School-Based

Elizabeth is a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) from Salisbury University – School of Social Work. She has experience working with children and adults in both individual and group settings. In addition, she has experience working with individuals seeking treatment for anxiety, depression, PTSD, family/relationship conflict, parenting skills, anger management, trauma, ADHD, bipolar disorder, grief and bereavement, and other co-occurring disorders.
Elizabeth uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a strengths-based approach to help her clients grow from personal experiences and conflicts. Elizabeth sees the importance of the therapeutic relationship, so she offers a safe space and nurturing environment for all her clients. Elizabeth has a strong passion for helping her clients reach their full potential and supporting them during their time of growth.

Ms. Norris works in our school-based program and in our equine-facilitated program.

Taylor Myers-Morgan, LMSW

Position: Licensed Master Social Worker From Salisbury University School of Social Work

Taylor is a Licensed Master’s Social Worker who earned her graduate degree in social work from Salisbury University. She has experience providing therapy and psychoeducation to individuals and groups in an inpatient setting for co-occurring disorders, bipolar disorders, PTSD, depression, anxiety, trauma, and more. Taylor utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy and a strengths-based approach to enhance collaborative efforts with clients. She also focuses on stress and anger management, emotional recognition and regulation, mindfulness techniques, and developing coping skills.

Zoe DeGrazia, LMSW

Position: Licensed Master Social Worker From University of Maryland, School of Social Work

Zoe is a Licensed Master’s Social Worker who earned her graduate degree in social work from the University of Maryland, School of Social Work. Zoe has spent most of her budding career working in schools as a school-based social worker and has many years of experience working with children. At Balance Point Wellness, she is both a school-based social worker as well as an Equine-Assisted Therapist, in which she provides therapy on a farm while engaging clients with horses. In addition, Zoe is passionate about holistic psychology and uses a trauma-informed lens in her therapeutic interventions.

Sydney Stone, LMSW

Position: Licensed Master Social Worker From from Marywood University

Sydney is a Licensed Master Social Worker and earned her Master’s in Social Work from Marywood University. She is passionate about providing children, adolescents, and young adults with the skills and support necessary for them to thrive in their environment. She has experience working with a variety of individuals, including trauma survivors, adults with mental health diagnoses, and youth with autism, ADHD, and other behavioral concerns. Her approach incorporates client-centered and person-in-environment perspectives, placing much value on the diversity of clients’ experiences and self-determination.

Ms. Stone works in the Baltimore County School-Based Program.

Alysha Menkis, LGPC

Position: Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor From Johns Hopkins University
Categories: School-Based

Alysha Menkis is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor who obtained her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. She also obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Small Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Western Connecticut State University.
After obtaining her master’s, Alysha worked with children and adolescents as a school counselor. In this capacity, she created and implemented classroom lessons and provided individual and group counseling to help students learn social skills, executive functioning, and conflict resolution. Alysha works with children and adolescents that have a variety of diagnoses, including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, adjustment, ADHD, and mood disorders. She uses a variety of methods, such as play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness.

Heather O’Rourke

Position: Licensed Master Social Worker From Salisbury University School of Social Work
Categories: School-Based

Heather received her Master’s of Social Work from Salisbury University and is a licensed social worker in Maryland. Heather has a long history of working within the education system through a nonprofit program that served underserved communities for approximately fifteen years. After learning the needs of those underserved communities, Heather pursued higher education in social work and focused on her professional career goal of becoming a therapist. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages with varying challenges, including mental illness and trauma.

Heather primarily utilizes CBT, motivational interviewing, talk therapy, and mindfulness meditation in her practice with clients. Heather has found CBT to be extremely impactful across multiple levels of need, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma. Heather works with her clients where they are and seeks to impact the positive change they seek through therapy.

Ms. O’Rourke works in the Baltimore County School-Based Program.

Colleen Sweeney, LMSW

Position: Licensed Master Social Worker from Virginia Commonwealth University
Categories: Harford County, School-Based

Colleen is a Licensed Master Social Worker from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her approach to care is providing a supportive and therapeutic space for clients to learn ways to improve their satisfaction and quality of life. This is achieved through the use of various clinical tools such as solutions-focused strategies, cognitive behavioral skills (CBT), and mindfulness techniques. The treatment sessions and therapeutic techniques will be tailored to the client’s strengths and needs. Whether the client is working through a traumatic event, grief, or other stressful life situation or experiencing ongoing or periodic anxiety or depression, a safe space to utilize various modalities of treatment will be created. Colleen believes one of the most important aspects of treatment is the therapeutic relationship and strives to deliver a positive experience for all clients to achieve client goals.

Ms. Sweeney works in our Baltimore County School-Based program and in our Harford County Office.
