Nancy McCamish, MA, LCPAT
Nancy is a licensed mental health therapist with 20+ years of experience working in a variety of settings. She is a graduate of The George Washington University. She is trained in a variety of modalities including expressive therapy (art, play, poetry, and music), cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma and grief therapy. She has worked extensively with children and teens with depression, anxiety, and emotional regulation difficulties. Nancy’s creative approach to therapy allows her the flexibility to provide treatment that is unique to each individual’s needs. Through an eclectic approach to therapy, she encourages greater insight and discovery of new skills for moving forward in a healthy way. By establishing a safe and nonjudgmental environment, therapy can be a valuable tool at any stage in life for restoring joy and meaning to life.
Nancy also works with adults. Some of her specialties include: Anxiety/Depression/Mood Disorders; ADHD, Family Therapy, Divorce Adjustment and Co-parenting; Grief/Trauma; Postpartum; Depression/Anxiety; OCD/Phobias, Identity Issues. She has worked in schools, residential, outpatient settings; and most recently private practice. She considers her work as rewarding and those that seek help courageous and strong.
In her free time, Nancy enjoys the outdoors and hikes with her chocolate lab named Kona. She loves spending time with family and friends. She is passionate about music, reading, and cooking.
