Kathryn DeRaffele, LCPAT, ATR-BC
Kathryn is a licensed and board-certified art therapist. Over the past 10-years, she has worked with children and adults in a variety of settings. Kathryn has been a counselor and art therapist at Balance Point Wellness since 2017, specializing in interpersonal dynamics, attachment, trauma, and recovery. Her therapeutic approach focuses on healing, resiliency, adaptive coping, and personal insight from a humanistic perspective.
She also uses evidence-based models such as TF-CBT, CBT, DBT, and Mindfulness strategies in her practice. In addition to traditional counseling techniques, Kathryn values art-making as a vehicle for cathartic release, identity development, and healing. She believes that as human beings, we all have a creative side no matter our age, experience level, or background. Kathryn’s approach to art therapy invites participants to explore different materials and find insight into their creative process.
