Ami Waller, LGPC
Ami is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor who earned her Ph.D. in Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and her Master of Arts in Counseling from Hampton University. She is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Ami has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults navigating challenges related to anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, and interpersonal issues. She is intentional in empowering clients and supporting their presenting needs by establishing and maintaining a safe, non-judgmental space conducive to change.
Ami utilizes evidence-based practices to treat the presenting needs of her clients. While her therapeutic approaches include person-centered, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed, she does not ascribe to a one-size-fits all model and employs modalities and interventions that align with the needs of her clients. Moreover, Ami considers the cultural background and identities of her clients, recognizing that one’s experiences are unique and inform the way in which they interact with the world and navigate the inherent challenges.
Ami is committed to cultivating a positive therapeutic relationship with her clients and working alongside them to fulfill their goals.
