Acupuncture is part of a complex medical system that has been continuously healing people worldwide for centuries. Currently, it is endorsed widely by the World Health Organization, utilized both in the field and at home by the U.S. military, and increasingly integrated into American hospitals and other western medical settings. In addition, its counterparts of herbal & food medicine, movement therapy (qi gong, tai chi, etc.), and healing touch (acupressure and tui na), which are used throughout the globe, are also gaining broader acclaim in the United States in recent years.

Through the use of tiny, hair-thin needles, the body’s healing mechanisms are unleashed, and symptoms and conditions are resolved. Acupuncture and its related practices help resolve acute and chronic pain on all levels: mental, physical, and emotional. They help balance those living with chronic disease and help medications work more effectively. Regular and seasonal support treatments enhance the immune system, improve sleep, lower stress responses, and support overall health and well-being. Most clients report being one or more of the following after treatment: relaxed, energized, more focused, less pain, and more like themselves.

We believe that everyone has biochemical individuality and deserves a unique approach to their health. What you eat, how you eat, how you sleep, your levels of stress, personal relationships, the trauma of all shapes, and more are all pieces that factor into your picture of health, which is why we incorporate nutrition into our practice here at Balance Point Wellness.

Nutrition is the root cause of so many of our current health conditions and can be one of the main contributing factors to anxiety, fatigue, brain fog, mood swings, and depression. At Balance Point, our functional nutritionists work with clients to discover the root cause of their conditions, and support them nutritionally in a variety of ways. Our nutritionist will look for nutrient depletions related to symptoms such as B12 deficiency, anxiety, hormonal issues, hypoglycemia, and mood swings. The first goal is to support health through food, focusing on essential nutrients that help rejuvenate over-taxed organs and support brain health. Our nutritionists look at what clients are eating, how often, and when they’re eating, and then determine whether supplements should be added.
