Acupuncture Services

Self Pay Rates- Intake $160, On-Going Hour session $85.00

Acupuncture is part of a complex medical system that has been continuously healing people around the world for centuries. Currently, it is endorsed widely by the World Health Organization, utilized both in the field and at home by the U.S. military, and increasingly integrated into American hospitals and other western medical settings. Its counterparts of herbal & food medicine, movement therapy (qi gong, tai chi, etc.) and healing touch (acupressure and tui na), which are used throughout the globe, are also gaining broader acclaim in the United States in recent years.

Through the use of tiny, hair-thin needles, the body’s healing mechanisms are unleashed, and symptoms and conditions are resolved. Acupuncture and its related practices are useful in resolving acute and chronic pain on all levels: mental, physical, and emotional. They help balance those living with chronic disease and help medications work more effectively. Regular and seasonal support treatments enhance the immune system, improve sleep, lower stress responses, and support overall health and well being. Most clients report being one or more of the following after treatment: relaxed, energized, more focused, in less pain, and more like themselves. Insurances accepted: BCBS, Carefirst, or self-pay/out of pocket.

We believe that everyone has biochemical individuality and deserves a unique approach to their health. What you eat, how you eat, how you sleep, your levels of stress, personal relationships, the trauma of all shapes, and more are all pieces that factor into your picture of health, which is why we incorporate nutrition into our practice here at Balance Point Wellness.

Nutrition is the root cause of so many of our current health conditions and can be one of the main contributing factors to anxiety, fatigue, brain fog, mood swings, and depression. At Balance Point, our functional nutritionist works with clients to discover the root cause of their conditions, and support them nutritionally in a variety of ways. Our nutritionist will look for nutrient depletions related to symptoms such as B12 deficiency, anxiety, hormonal issues, hypoglycemia, and mood swings. The first goal is to support health through food, focusing on essential nutrients that help rejuvenate over-taxed organs and support brain health. Our nutritionists look at what clients are eating, how often, and when they’re eating, and then determine whether supplements should be added. Insurances accepted: BCBS, Carefirst, Hopkins EHP, Cigna or self-pay/ out of pocket

Somatic Touch Therapy

Self Pay Rates- Intake $160, On-Going Hour session $85.00

Somatic Touch Therapy uses gentle, still, hands-on contact with the patient’s clothed body combined with attentive body awareness in both the patient and practitioner to relieve the body’s holding of the habituated fight/flight/freeze response. Somatic Touch allows the patient to come back into a more functional window of tolerance and developed a healthier vagal nerve tone over time.

While initially introduced by the practitioner, many of these techniques can also be done alone at home. Insurances accepted: BCBS, Carefirst, or self-pay/out of pocket.

Chinese Medicine

Self Pay Rates- Intake $160, On-Going Hour session $85.00

Chinese herbal medicine can address anything from the common cold to side effects of chemotherapy treatment, and there are formulas for both chronic and acute situations. The U.S. relies on non-endangered, rigorously inspected plants, and in some cases, animal products to address imbalances in the body holistically.

The gift of using combinations of whole plant parts, rather than extracting elements, is that the synergistic nature of the whole plant allows the body to integrate the medicine more completely. The formulas come in 3 versions, boiled and consumed as a tea, a granule (instant coffee version) of the same decoction, and in caplets. The closer to the actual plants, the better; however, a patient’s time commitment may determine the best treatment. Insurances accepted: BCBS, Carefirst, or self-pay/out of pocket

Jenny Libkhen Picture

Yevgeniya Libkhen, MS, CNS, LDN

Yevgeniya (Jenny) Libkhen has always been passionate about nutrition and wellness and helping others achieve optimal health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Holistic Nutrition with Herbology Specialization degree and a Master of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Health degree. She is a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN), Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS®), and is certified as a Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP).

Her passion led her to seek education in nutrition. Jenny started her clinical nutrition practice back in 2007 and loves it just as much now, if not more. Jenny serves as a faculty member at the Maryland University of Integrative Health and is a recipient of the Herbert C. Brown Community Service Award. Through personalized consultations, education in various healing modalities, and an individualistic approach, Jenny can devise a custom-made program, a road map to YOUR journey. Jenny helps you find what works for you – the client, not what helps a certain condition. She works with you and your entire being, your body, mind, and spirit, not a list of medical diagnoses. Imbalance in the body, whether caused by stress, illness, or poor nutrition, takes one away from health. Jenny is here to help you learn how to turn that around and take steps in the right direction.
