Sophie has experience working with adults and youth experiencing a range of presenting problems such as anxiety disorders, OCD, depression, trauma and PTSD, low self-esteem, and relationship issues. She is passionate about helping individuals gain insight into themselves, validate their own emotions and needs, and strive to be the best version of themselves. Sophie utilizes CBT, emotion-focused approaches, trauma-informed approaches, mindfulness and acceptance-based practices, and motivational techniques. She values building a safe, nonjudgmental, and open therapeutic relationship and finds it particularly important to learn about relevant aspects of clients’ identities and backgrounds that may inform their treatment. Sophie also has training in Gottman Method couples therapy and has experience helping couples to resolve conflict, communicate openly, and deepen their connection.
