David is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor who earned his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University.

David provides a supportive and empathic environment that is centered on a foundation of trust and open communication. He views himself as a partner and collaborator in each client’s story, healing journey, and path forward, helping them achieve their goals and facilitating lasting improvement and recovery. His holistic approach is designed to recognize, understand, and incorporate each client’s salient identities and characteristics, empowering client autonomy in counseling. David’s goal is for clients to feel free to be their authentic selves, exploring their strengths and values within sessions to reinforce growth and integrity. He believes the client is the expert of their own story and destiny, and that building a strong therapeutic alliance rooted in trust and open communication sets clients up for success, both in counseling and beyond, by promoting client autonomy and resilience.

David has relevant experience working with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, ADHD, and severe behavioral challenges, particularly among children, adolescents, and young adults. He takes a strengths and values-based approach, guiding clients to refine their identities, explore their values, and integrate their strengths into daily life, creating substantial and enduring change over time.

David employs a multifaceted counseling approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. He believes that integrating techniques from a variety of therapeutic approaches can enhance the counseling experience and support client growth. Lastly, he invites clients to be real, authentic, and passionate about who they are, working with them to address their presenting concerns and prevent these challenges from limiting their capacity to live lives aligned with their values and self-definition.
