Germaine Banner-Wills, LCPC
Germaine has experience working with adults, couples, and families in outpatient therapy and Residential Crisis settings. One of her core beliefs is perspective is everything! She values the individual perspectives of each of the clients she serves. Germaine has experience treating clients with ADHD, anxiety and mood disorders, substance use disorders, personality disorders, and trauma. She is also passionate about working with clients with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
She believes in an eclectic approach to working with clients, opting to use various treatment strategies to address their needs and goals. Germaine utilizes guided meditation, progressive muscle relaxation, and deep breathing to help her clients center and get in touch with their authentic self. She believes that an inner voice can help clients gain insight, resolve feelings associated with trauma, and regulate emotions. She uses mindfulness-based strategies alone or in conjunction with other treatment modalities such as CBT, Acceptance, and Commitment therapy (ACT), and DBT. Germaine has a holistic approach to treatment; assisting clients in exploring various aspects of their environment, such as nutrition work and exercise, impacts their functioning. She encourages them to explore making changes that can positively impact their emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.
